Psychology is the study of people: how they think, how they act, react and interact. It's concerned with all aspects of behaviour and the thoughts, feelings and motivation underlying such behaviour. Psychology is a discipline that is firstly concerned with the normal functioning of the mind and has explored areas such as learning, remembering and the normal psychological development. Aim of clinical psychologist is to reduce the distress and improve the psychological wellbeing of clients who may have a variety of mental or physical health conditions. Psychologist can specialise in a number of areas, such as mental health and educational and occupational psychology. In healthcare, psychologist specialises in clinical, counselling, forensic or health psychology. Paediatrician is doctor who manage medical conditions affecting infants, children and young people. Paediatrics can be divided into 4 main areas: general paediatrics (manage children from birth to the age of 16 with problems ranging from acute, life-threatening illnesses to chronic diseases, and focus on health promotion from newborn to late adolescence), neonatology (this role specialises in looking after newly born babies in an intensive care unit looking after premature babies or those with problems at birth), community paediatrics (these doctors are based in the community and look after children with developmental, social or behavioural problems and those with a physical disability), paediatric cardiology (these doctors diagnose and treat children with cardiac (heart) conditions).
